Let me tell you a story...

Emily Pike Stewart is a Grammy and Audie Award-winning creator of audiobooks with extensive experience across the spoken word industry.

Born and raised in Louisville, KY, in high school Emily began volunteering as an audiobook narrator and director at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (now Learning Ally). She earned a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and worked in theater before returning to the world of audiobooks as studio manager at CDM Sound Studios in New York City. There she gained skills in session engineering and post-production and worked as an editor on Grammy Award winner Earth: The Audio Book by Jon Stewart.

Emily later began offering narration and post-production as GoBunny Media, which has since evolved into Empyrean Productions to encompass a full range of audiobook production services as well as development of other media such as theater and podcasting. She has worked on hundreds of audiobooks including many award-winning projects with authors and narrators such as Dolly Parton, Malala Yousafzai, David Foster Wallace, Nora Roberts, Donald Rumsfeld, Joyce Carol Oates, Kyle Petty, and more.

Emily currently calls Kentucky home, while working remotely as an audiobook and audio originals producer for Sounds True Publishing in Colorado and frequently indulging her wanderlust as host of the podcast The Nomad Narrator. In her spare time, Emily enjoys making music with her husband (who as a blind avid reader can always be found with a good audiobook!), being a resident member of Looking for Lilith Theatre Company, studying to become a mindfulness meditation teacher, and devouring non-fiction audiobooks like the brain candy they are.

“Emily is the whole package when it comes to audiobooks – she’s done it all. Anyone who gets to work with her is lucky to have her on their team.”
